Hi, i can turn the pedals all the way around no problem. The exhaust is not in the way.

I took apart my tomos today, removing the 1st and 2nd clutches. The first thing i did was remove the spring and shorten them both (for each clutch) by 1cm. I then put them back on and then cut 2 slits per pad (45 degree). It helps a hell of a lot. But be worned, without the proper tools (like i did) it is hard to do this. The two most difficult tasks in this process was 1) putting back the clutch springs... wow was that hard! 2)taking off and later putting on the washer that holds in the 2nd clutch.... whoa... if i had the right tools it would have been a breeze. After all is said and done, I am very very pleased with the results!

here are some pictures:

(Did this for both clutches)

I gotta say, this performance increase is at about the same improvement level as going from a stock pipe to a tecnigas. ****, I accelarate like a mad man now.

Ya, i cut diagnal groves into the clutch shoe so that the transmission oil on the pads has a quicker escape route.

I cant say for sure the grooves help, cause the improvement i am noticing could also be from shortening the springs. Here are my observations after riding it out today:

There is a lot of punch when you are at a stand still and accelerate. Its fun to feel the G force pulling me back. The 2nd gear engages at around 25km (down from the 30-35km/h it was before). The change over from one gear to the other is silky smooth.. Its easy to not even realize when it takes place.
I accelerate steadly till around 50km/h at which point i feel a stronger pull (accelerating) till around the "M" of TOMOS on the speedo, which is around 70km/h.

you can make the same grooves in the brake pads as the one you have made in the clutch for better brake performance and longer life

how would that help brake pads? There are no fluids to escape the surface, so what would be the point?

Hi guys, i have a question for you. I just recieved a new pair of clutches, and there is a bit more cork on them then the ones i already modified. I shortened the springs on the used clutches by 1 cm. I was thinking of trying and removing 2 cm of the first gear (cause i like the gear shift of the second gear). Is 2 cm too much to remove?

I got the chrome fenders a few days ago, and have cut them to size. Here is an update of how it currently looks. Got a new tail light, (which i had to paint a bit... so is now drying in the sun). I will post new completed pics in a few days.

Use 2 of these.
Make a circle of the spring, and clip them togother. Put 1 part of the spring under the copper clip, then put the ^^^^^instrument on it, so it stays in place. Mount the clamp and cluth on a table, so its stable. Then take a second part of the spring, and also put it under the copperclip. Again, mount the clamp to both the table, and the clutch. Now 2/3rd of the spring is mounted, the last part you will have to put in manually, with 1 or 2 screw<draaier> :P

et voila. A complete clutch.

Hi,

I attached the new exhaust on, and i must say something seems to be wrong. Overall performance from start up to top end is reduced. I max out at around 60km/h (on the tomos speedo) Perhaps I need to play around with jet sizes... i dont know.

Any ideas?

Sure looks cool, and sounds great too:

That exhaust looks a lot better to me.
What performance the other exhaust had?

Cause maybe the jet sized it could be, but the other exhaust can be better than this one. I don't know exactly but I think so.

Just play around with the jet sizes, maybe ist helpful, you'll never know when you don't try!
